Government of The People, by The People and for The People…

… is pretty much nonexistent.

The Constitution is hidden in some dark corner, out of the way.

Government by oligarchy is alive and well.

In the latest example of rule by the oligarchy, Arizona’s law to enforce existing federal law has been shut down by the injunction of one judge.

The Obama administration sued Arizona, citing their constitutional position that they, not Arizona, have the authority to “set immigration policy”.  The utter insanity of that charge is that in reality they have refused to enforce immigration law.  The Arizona law would have resulted in Arizona authorities handing criminals over to the federal authorities.

How this threatens or challenges federal authority to establish immigration policy, is beyond me.  How it can be called racist is also beyond me.  Only persons suspected of criminal activities would be asked to show proof of legal residency.  How is that racist?  To think that is racist requires that you already assume the Arizona law enforcement officers are racists.  This is hardly a point of law.

This decision illustrates the reality that we do not live in a democracy.  We do not have representational government.  Your vote only means what the federal government wants it to mean, not what you want it to mean.

While freedom-loving peoples everywhere look hopefully to up-coming elections to set things right, don’t be surprised if those in power deem those elections invalid, if the results aren’t what they want.  And if our citizens get so upset that they lose control, toss out common sense and resort to acts of defiance (such as the riots and looting that accompany African-American unrest), do not be surprised if the federal government declares marshall law.  The government will not be so lenient to whites who demonstrate as they are to minorities (including gays).

What can be done to restore representational government? to implement the will of the people?  You tell me.

If voting doesn’t work, if writing your representatives doesn’t work, if demonstrating won’t work, what will?  And where are our leaders?  They’re lined up at the trough (for the most part) to slop up whatever they can get for themselves.

I’m completely disgusted.

About retiredday

I am Michael D. Day, a regular, everyday guy -- retired. I stand for God-given freedom, which means I think for myself. I believe in being civil, because the Bible teaches that we should love our enemies. But I also believe in saying it how I see it, and explaining just why I see it that way, sort of like 2 Timothy 4:2.
